What is a Carbon Neutral Convention?

This year, we are holding our Congress as a "Carbon Neutral Congress" in order to contribute to the achievement of our country's net zero emission targets within the framework of Turkey's climate change action plan and to eliminate the carbon impacts we will create in the Congress.

By organizing a Carbon neutral Congress this year, we aimed to zero the greenhouse gas emissions that will arise due to our Congress event. In other words, after we have our sustainability sponsors calculate our carbon footprint due to the Congress and have it verified by taking second-party opinions, we aim to achieve a green congress by obtaining carbon credits certified by the Gold Standard in exchange for greenhouse gas, and balancing carbon emissions. The carbon footprint of all participants and panelists physically attending the congress will also be measured in this context.

At our Congress, which we will hold this year, it is among our priorities to raise individual and social awareness on sustainability through panel topics and climate and low-carbon-friendly methods to be used and applied at the event.

We will ensure that the panelists who will attend the sessions from abroad are connected online in order to keep their carbon footprints low. Instead of using printed materials, digital platforms will be used in our congress. In our sessions, we will inform our participants about low carbon emissions on digital screens and mobile applications during coffee breaks.

At the same time, within the scope of the social responsibility project of our Congress, 15,000 seed balls will be fired to hard-to-reach areas with unmanned aerial vehicles (drone) on behalf of each participant and panelist who will attend the Congress. In addition, on the day of the Congress, we will present 2,000 ecoBoxes containing seed pods and soil packs to the guests who attend physically.
